all change at crewe; well anyway, for a good choice of ales
It’s a while since we played away at Crewe but a pub I intend to try this year is The Borough Arms which has around 10 real ales on at any one time including some of its own ales brewed on site. It also has a good range of Belgian beers on tap. It’s about a 20 minute struggle to the ground by foot or for those using four wheeled transport, about 5 minutes.
Edit: after visiting the Borough Arms on Saturday 14th Jan 17, pre-match, the general view is that it was ok but a touch disappointing as there were no “brewed on site” beers available. Indeed the ones I sampled were real ales from Scotland and one from Oakham Ales. A fellow dedicated beer-hunter, Ironman, unselfishly carried out an in-depth survey pre-match and highly recommends the Hops Belgian style beer bar in Prince Albert Street and this establishment is now added to the beer-hunter pages.
Thanks very much for the feedback Dave; keep them coming.
Another recommendation following Saturday's visit. This one from Adrian, The Beerdock, splendid place for craft beer.
