Grimsby: all the fun of the seaside
Cleethorpes for whatever reason has never been my favourite away trip probably due to non-to easy drive even from my home in north Cambridgeshire. Simply not the nicest night time drive once you are north of Boston especially on a winters evening. Granted the fish and chips are first rate but to date I have never been that impressed with the pubs I have used. That’s probably a bit of a harsh comment as it Fosters is your tipple then fine but for a nice ale, maybe not the best away trip.
An Outlaws poster, markus sathanas, kindly suggested the three listed below so I will definitely check out one or two on my next visit there, yep, in winter!
Firstly, Dexters which does appear to have a decent range of ales and offers attractive food.
Secondly, The Smugglers which has Marstons Pedigree and Jennings Cumberland as resident ales and also has a revolving order of guest beers .
Lastly, a railway station bar called the No2 Refreshment Room at Cleethorpes Railway station.
Thanks Markus for the suggestions.
