Morecambe: A visit To See Eric & Nice Beer
Morecambe, I suppose you either love the place or loath it, personally I rather like the place with it’s absolutely wonderful bay and super view over to the Cumbrian Fells; add a touch of Lancaster ales and really what is there not to like.
So the pubs for a pint of real ale: the Royal is quite popular especially as I hear that it serves Cross Bay Brewery beer, the only beer actually brewed in Morecambe.
My personal choice and the one I have used on the last two trips to Morecambe is the Palatine which is not too far from Eric and about a 30-minute walk to the ground or 15 minutes on the number 6 bus although, to be honest, I have never used the bus. The Palatine itself serves really very decent food and also a good range of Lancaster ales, to my mind well worth a visit.
You may also wish to break your journey and call into Lancaster for an ale and let's fact it if you are going by train then you have to changes at Lancaster: a decent CAMRA guide for the thirsty Hatter in Lancaster.
